I wanted to share some thoughts on how I envision 2021 and things I will be working on. Some will be coding projects, beyond things I have shared or have been working on GitHub I aim to complete some projects that I have started some time ago in Python.
Part of a January clean up, I am aiming to organize my bookmarks, which are spread out between devices as well as different browsers. This will help me keep track of resources and improve on following up on things I have saved for later. I also need to improve on actually reading articles and tidbits that I save so I can better learn.
I have been taking more and more notes using Joplin, especially for programming in order to better keep track of things I am learning. This is an excellent tool that allows me to use markdown language when making the notes.
My brother in law gave some advice on improving my programming skills. I’ve been concentrating mostly on Python, my most recent work related application was written in Bash but the Object Oriented Programming concepts within Python have been tricky. His recommendation was to look at Java or C# to get a firmer footing with OOP and move back to Python.
Looking at a new language will definitely help motivate me in trying to write a lot more applications/scripts and try to write a little bit every day. I missed uploading something on 01/01/2021 as GitHub marks uploads within UTC and my edits were pushed late on CST. However this will not deter me from pushing forward and I will continue posting articles and tidbits that I come across that others may find useless.
On that note, Happy New Year, good luck with 2021 and stay tuned!
